2E3 Class Camp 2010 (Md Haiqal)
1st Day Of Camp
In school, after the assembly, I brought my bag to the camp room and placed my bag on one side of the room. After that, I brought my day pack and sleeping bag to Changi Adventure Centre as we will be staying there for one night. When we reached there, the facilitators introduced themselves to my class and I. After the facilitators introduced themselves, we did kayaking. Since I did not have a partner, one of the facilitators partnered me. Before kayaking, we did a water confidence test. After that, we kayaked until it was far from the place. Along the way, my partner and I kept on bumping on other kayaks. While on the way back, it started to rain. The waves and the wind were pushing us back, making it harder to paddle back to the mainland. After kayaking, we placed the equipments on its original place.
After kayaking, the class was split into four groups. After that, we had lunch. After lunch, the four groups were changed into three groups for rafting. After that, we set up our tents for sleeping later that night. After setting up, we built our rafts as a team. After building our rafts, we placed our rafts into the sea. Although my group's raft did not manage to float on the water, we did have fun. After rafting, we had outdoor cooking. We ate Maggi, baked beans, vegetables, sardines and sausages. After the outdoor cooking, we had a Whiz challenge. There are four groups and seventy tasks to complete. In the end of the challenge, my group came in first. At night, we had supper and slept. I had difficulty sleeping because of the noises made by the plane that was flying above the area every 5 to 10 mins.
2nd Day of Camp
When I woke up, I realised that I had many insect bites. We did not bathe in the morning. We ate breakfast and took the bus to go to our first destination of the day which is Sungai Buloh Nature Reserve. We were given a piece of paper to take down notes for the worksheet we would need to complete later on. We went into the theatre and watched a short fifteen minute video about the reserve. After the video, we walked around the reserve and appreciate the nature. While walking around the reserve, we admired the plants and animals that were around us. After walking around, we went back to school.
In school, we quickly rushed to the camp room and changed into our long pants as we were going to have CRC. Before the CRC, we had to complete the worksheet about the reserve. Then, we had lunch. After lunch, we did the CRC. I was scared of heights but I managed to do at least two courses. Halfway through the course, it started to rain. Later on, we received our new class camp Tees. It looked much better than last year because last year's one was dull and lacked colour. Then we changed into it and went for dinner. The food was horrible and it had a foul smell.
After dinner, we had to prepare a skit for campfire. During the campfire, some of my classmates' parents came. We performed our skit and did a lot of cheers. When the campfire had ended, we went to take a bath and went to the canteen for supper. The taste of the horrible food was still on my mouth although I had drank a lot of plain water. Then, we went to the music room to do reflection and we went to sleep at the hall.
3rd Day of Camp
When we woke up, I had to rush to the toilet. Almost the whole class and the facilitators had stomachache. We had breakfast. The food was not as bad as last night's dinner. After breakfast, we all went to the music room. Most of the students had to go to the toilet including me. It was so bad that we do not need to ask for permission to go to the toilet. Then, we recapped on CPR. After that, we went to the camp room and learnt how to bandage wounds and cuts on arms and head. Then, we packed our stuff and returned the sleeping mats to our facilitators. We then went to the computer lab and did a lot of surveys. After the survey, we did our blog on the 3 days of camp. Then, we take back our valuables and went home after that. That was the best and memorable class camp I ever had.
