Day 1
It was the first day of class camp, i went into my car, on the way to school. I was anxious, it was too early to go to a class camp to me, but thats how I always feel before camps. When the car reached the school. I got out from the car.I tried to not get noticed, but with the big bags, everyone was looking at me. I felt akward.
After having assembly, we were released from it early and walk to the camp room. We put everything down onto the floor and then got our Day Pack. I forgotten to leave a space for my 1.5 litre water bottle. But it wasn't that heavy. We then gathered to the carpark, next to where the security is sitting. The facilitators introduced themselves and then they did a sport-check for everyone of us.
We then board the bus. The bus was quite old-looking, it has bells at the side of the poles. I actually thought it was once a SMRT bus which was now converted into another type of bus. When the bus was miving, I observed throught the window many things, most of which I've already seen, but the way you see the scenery from the bus was totally different from the scenery from the car as the bus was higher than a car.
When we reached the MOE camp-side at Changi, we put our bags at an area, then we got a briefing from an instructor. Then we paired up, i was with Daren. We choose our life jacket an then brought our kayak to the shore. De Sheng and Remmie also helped to carry our boat to the shore.
When it was our kayak's time to set out into the sea, we brought our kayak to the front of the shore. We then kayaked peacefully and normally to the group of kayaks waiting for us. When we were side to side with the other kayak, we had to get hold of the rope at the side of the kayaks and stick together. The facilitator infront of us told us to go into groups of two kayaks. Our kayak paired up with Luqman's kayak, together with William. Then we broke up and followed Luqman's kayak, but their kayak was too fast and was one of the first, while ours was one of the last. It was obvious that we couldn't catch up. Our hands were tired but we never gave up, we pushed each other (boats) foward and supported them. We gave it our all, but we kept on losing out to other kayaks. When the other kayaks already grouped together, we, together with some other kaykas were keft behind. So we got called to another faciluitator and followed him back. It began raining. Our sight was kept limited to the minimum and we could only a few inchs away. Futhermore, the waves were huge, but we manage to catch up with the other kayaks, with a litle advice from a failitator, we began to paddle with more confident and our kayak traveled faster then ever. It was not long until we reached the shore again.
Then we kept all the life jackets and rinsed. Then we ate our lunch there. My fish fillet dropped out of the styrofoam box and dropped onto the ground. We enjoyed the kayaking, and expect the rafting to be as good.
